Paper Ephemera |
| Paper
ephemera refers to items originally printed to be read,
and at some later time, disposed of. Examples are dog
show programs, advertising booklets, calendars, pedigrees,
trade and cigarette cards, etc., etc. Sometimes ephemera
is more interesting than a book, as it brings more immediacy
to that moment in time. |
| Figurines |
| Figurines
will include items of the quality of Royal Doulton to
unmarked pieces that still come up to our standards
of beauty. |
| Photographs |
| Photographs
are a fascinating section in dog antiques. How important
The Dog has been to Man is visually shown by family
portraits which include the family pet; athletic teams
with their mascot; soldiers with their pet, or their
wardog; hunters with bird dogs or hounds; and children
with their trusted canine companion. This is definitely
a section you should peruse - and enjoy. |
| Objects |
| Objects,
etc. covers a wide variation of things relating to The
Dog which don't fall neatly into the other categories.
Bookends, chalk figures, pipe holders, canes, medals,
collars, humidors, etc., etc. It's an interesting section.
Man has used the image of The Dog in an amazing number
of ways. |
